Origin & Story

This Tazrirt Collection rug is the cool-toned member of the collection's relief designs, which draw their pattern from two heights of Moroccan wool. Mint and indigo give the geometry a fresh, almost coastal character. We do not attribute it to a specific tribe or region.

Design & Visual Identity

Mint green bands cover the surface, each one separated from the next by a narrow indigo line. The bands run in parallel groups that change direction at sharp angles, building chevrons, nested hexagons and blocks of short bars. The layout is asymmetric, so the eye keeps moving across it.

The mint pile stands above the indigo ground, and the difference shows as a fine shadow along every line. A folded corner reveals the reverse, a flat weave of indigo and ivory stripes. Indigo binding runs down the long sides, and a dotted indigo border with cream braided tassels closes each short end.

Craftsmanship & Materials

Handwoven from 100% wool, the rug combines a soft raised pile with flat-woven lines. The two levels make the pattern easy to feel underfoot as well as to see. Each piece is made to order, so the mint may be slightly lighter or greener and the lines will follow a slightly different path.

Styling Your Space

Mint and indigo work well with white walls, pale wood and rattan, and with blue or gray upholstery. In a darker room, the light pile lifts the floor. Keep surrounding textiles plain so the line pattern stays clear.

Care & Everyday Use

Vacuum on a suction-only setting and avoid running over the tassels. Blot spills promptly with a clean cloth, working from the edge toward the center. Keep the rug out of prolonged direct sunlight to protect the colors, and rotate it from time to time. Leave deep cleaning to a wool rug specialist.

Custom sizes are available. The rug is woven to order and the pattern is redrawn to suit your dimensions. Measure your space before ordering and allow for door clearance over the pile. Small differences in shade, line and spacing are normal in handmade work.
