Black and white Moroccan rugs
Dark lines on an ivory or cream ground are the oldest look in Moroccan weaving and still the easiest to live with. The contrast gives a room structure, while the wool keeps it warm. Our black and white rugs range from fine diamond lattices in the Beni Ourain tradition to bold checkerboards, stepped frames, triple bars and Zanafi flatweaves.
Pile or flatweave?
- Pile rugs, such as our Beni Ourain style rugs, are soft and quiet underfoot: living rooms and bedrooms.
- Flatweaves, such as our Zanafi rugs, sit low under doors and chairs: dining rooms, entrances, hallways.
Living with an ivory ground
A pale ground shows dirt sooner than a dark one. Vacuum regularly with the beater bar off, blot spills at once, and turn the rug from time to time so it wears evenly. Our wool rug care guide has the details.
Each rug is woven to order in the width and length you enter on the product page, which shows the price and the estimated delivery for that size. Made to order rugs take 2 to 10 weeks to weave, depending on size, then 3 to 5 business days to reach the United States. Shipping is free worldwide, with import duties and taxes included.
