Our Story
About TAZRIRT

We Are Not a Rug Store. We Are a Family Protecting a Dying Art.
Tazrirt did not start as a business. It started with one woman: Fatima, a mother, an artisan, a master weaver whose hands carried the memory of generations.
For decades, she wove rugs in a small Moroccan village…
not for the world,
not for fame,
but to keep the story of her ancestors alive.
Her rugs were never “made.” They were born, knot by knot, breath by breath.
And when her children grew up, they realized something powerful: the world deserved to see what their mother had carried alone.
So they built this website, not as a brand, but as a bridge between their mother’s loom and the world.
Tazrirt is her legacy. We are simply carrying it forward.

Meet the Woman Behind Tazrirt, and the Women She Inspires
In the Atlas Mountains and deep rural Morocco, you’ll find her: sitting at a wooden loom built by her father when she was a girl.
She wove to help her family.
She wove to preserve her culture.
She wove because it was in her blood.
Today, she teaches other women. Mothers… daughters… widows… young girls who want a future.
No machines.
No factories.
Only hands, rhythm, patience, and pride.
She is the heartbeat of Tazrirt, and every artisan who works with us carries a piece of her story.

Because Every Rug Carries a Life, Not Just Wool
A Tazrirt rug is a blend of:
- Wool hand-spun by mountain families
- Natural dyes created in small batches
- Ancestral Amazigh symbols
- Hundreds of hours of dedication
- A living story passed from mother to children, and now to you
This is why our rugs feel warm.
This is why they become heirlooms.
This is why they cannot be copied.
Because they carry a soul. Her soul.
Preserve Her Art. Empower Her Community. Share Her Story.
Our mission is deeply personal. We built Tazrirt to ensure her art, and the art of thousands of Moroccan women, never disappears.
Every purchase:
- Supports rural families
- Keeps weaving traditions alive
- Gives independence to women who rely on their craft
- Protects an ancestral heritage on the edge of being forgotten
You’re not buying a rug. You’re continuing a lineage.

From Her Loom… To Homes Across the Globe
We source directly from our own workshops, including hers. We inspect every thread, finish every corner, and pack every rug with care.
Tazrirt now ships to customers around the world, from the USA to Europe, from Canada to the Gulf.
Her art… her story… her hands… now travel farther than she ever dreamed.
A Rug With a Soul, From a Woman Whose Story Deserves to Live
When you choose Tazrirt, you choose:
- authenticity over mass-production
- heritage over trends
- humanity over factories
Because behind every rug… there is a mother, a story, a legacy, and children determined to protect it.
This is Tazrirt.
This is our family.
And now… it can be part of yours.
