Origin & Story

This Tazrirt Collection rug enlarges the diamond, a familiar motif in Moroccan weaving, until two or three shapes fill the whole rug. The result is graphic and modern. We do not attribute it to a specific tribe or region.

Design & Visual Identity

At the center, a black diamond sits near one end and touches the tip of a second, taller black form that spreads into a wide triangle at the other end. On each long side, black half-diamonds point inward at the same heights. Between them the ivory field takes the shape of two wide, curving columns.

The black is deep and matte, flecked with a few light fibers. Where black and ivory meet, the long pile softens the edge. On the reverse, the black areas appear as fine black and ivory stripes in a flat weave. The short ends carry twisted ivory fringe.

Craftsmanship & Materials

Handwoven from 100% wool, the rug has a high, shaggy pile. Large shapes like these depend on the weaver's eye for symmetry, so the two sides are close but not identical. Each piece is made to order, and the shapes are proportioned to the size you request.

Styling Your Space

Black and ivory at this scale suit modern and minimalist rooms. Pair the rug with gray, white or beige sofas, pale wood and a few black accents. It works under a bed as well, where the diamonds appear on either side.

Care & Everyday Use

Vacuum with suction only and without a beater bar, which can pull long pile. Shake the rug out occasionally to lift the fibers, and expect some shedding at first. Blot spills at once with a dry cloth and avoid rubbing. Rotate the rug every few months and use a wool rug specialist for deep cleaning.
