Tazrirt Moroccan Area Rug – Ivory & Green Split Field with Diamond – Handmade Wool

Origin & Story

This Tazrirt Collection rug reduces its design to a few large elements and gives each one room. The diamond is a familiar motif in Moroccan weaving, used here once as a focal point. We do not attribute the rug to a specific tribe or region.

Design & Visual Identity

The rug is split down its length. The ivory side is almost empty, apart from seven small green squares set in a row near one end. The green side is crossed from end to end by a cream stripe bordered by two black lines.

Where the two fields meet, a diamond outlined in black and white stippling holds a solid black center. Below it, a thin stippled line continues along the seam to the end of the rug. Dark stitching and ivory fringe finish the short ends.

Craftsmanship & Materials

Handwoven from 100% wool, the rug has a soft, dense pile across both fields. The green shows gentle tonal variation, and the edges of the stripe and diamond have the slight irregularity of handwork. Each piece is made to order and will differ a little in tone and proportion.

Styling Your Space

Position the rug so the diamond stays visible, for example in front of a sofa with a low table set to one side. The green half can sit toward the seating and the ivory half toward the open floor. It pairs with natural wood, leather, cream textiles and black accents.

Care & Everyday Use

Vacuum using suction only and avoid running over the fringe. Blot spills immediately with a dry cloth, taking extra care on the ivory half. Rotate the rug periodically and limit strong direct sunlight so the two fields age evenly. Consult a wool rug specialist for deeper cleaning.
