Tazrirt Moroccan Area Rug – Ivory & Green Color Block with Black Dots – Handmade Wool

Origin & Story

This Tazrirt Collection rug applies Moroccan wool weaving to a modern color-block layout. The design is simple enough to describe in a sentence, and the handmade irregularity of each dot keeps it from looking printed. We do not attribute it to a specific tribe or region.

Design & Visual Identity

Roughly two thirds of the rug is ivory. Across it, black squares are set in even rows and columns, each one slightly different in outline. Short green dashes sit between the rows, repeating the color of the panel at a smaller scale.

The remaining third is an unbroken field of mid green with a soft, slightly mottled surface. A line of small black stitches marks the border between the two zones. The short ends are finished with dark stitching and ivory fringe.

Craftsmanship & Materials

Handwoven from 100% wool, the rug has a soft pile of even height across both zones. The squares and dashes are placed by hand, so their size and spacing shift a little from row to row. Each piece is made to order, and the count of dots changes with the size you choose.

Styling Your Space

Place the green panel toward a sofa or along a wall to anchor the room, and let the dotted field face the open floor. The palette works with plants, light wood, rattan and tan leather. In a neutral room it supplies color without a large-scale pattern.

Care & Everyday Use

Vacuum gently using suction only and keep the machine away from the fringe. Blot spills at once with a dry cloth; do not rub, especially on the ivory area. Rotate the rug now and then so both zones wear and fade evenly. For thorough cleaning, choose a specialist who works with wool rugs.
