Tazrirt Moroccan Area Rug – Golden Yellow with Ivory Diamond Lattice – Handmade Wool

Origin & Story

This Tazrirt Collection rug takes the diamond lattice often linked with Beni Ourain weaving and reverses the usual palette: a colored ground with pale lines. We present it as a Moroccan wool rug in that style and do not attribute it to a specific tribe or region.

Design & Visual Identity

The yellow sits between honey and saffron and has a heathered look, with lighter and deeper strands mixed through the pile. Across it, ivory lines draw two columns of tall diamonds, with half-diamonds along the edges. The lines are thin and slightly irregular.

No other motif is added. A narrow ivory band and thick braided tassels finish each short end, and the long sides are bound in ivory. The reverse, seen at a folded corner, is a flat weave in pale yellow.

Craftsmanship & Materials

Handwoven from 100% wool, the rug has a high, fluffy pile that partly covers the ivory lines. The lattice is drawn by hand, so the diamonds differ in width and the lines do not meet at exact points. Each piece is made to order, and the shade of yellow may vary slightly.

Styling Your Space

Golden yellow warms rooms with cool light and pairs well with oak, walnut, cream upholstery and gray. Use it under a dining table, in a home office or in a living room that needs one clear color. Green plants look especially good beside it.

Care & Everyday Use

Vacuum with suction only and without a beater bar, which can pull long pile. Shake the rug out occasionally to lift the fibers, and expect some shedding at first. Blot spills at once with a dry cloth and avoid rubbing. Rotate the rug every few months and use a wool rug specialist for deep cleaning.
