Origin & Story

This Tazrirt Collection rug takes the stripe, one of the oldest textile patterns, and loosens it. The bands are drawn freely, as if by brush, and woven in Moroccan wool. We describe the rug by its design and do not attribute it to a specific tribe or region.

Design & Visual Identity

Sage green bands alternate with narrower ivory lines from one end of the rug to the other. Horizontal breaks cut across the stripes at irregular heights, dividing the field into tiers of different depth. Within each tier the bands vary in width, and some taper or end early.

Toward the lower third, the stripes give way in places to small motifs: a zigzag, a few triangles and a patch of diamond lattice. These details are easy to miss from a distance and become clear up close. The green has a natural tonal variation that keeps the wide bands from looking flat.

Craftsmanship & Materials

Handwoven from 100% wool, the rug has a soft, even pile. Stripe edges are not ruled; they follow the weaver's hand, which gives the pattern its movement. Each piece is made to order, so the position of the breaks and motifs will differ from the photographs.

Styling Your Space

Run the stripes along the length of a room to stretch it visually, or across it to make it feel wider. Sage green sits well with oak, cream upholstery, rattan and terracotta. The pattern is busy enough to stand alone, so plain cushions and curtains work best around it.

Care & Everyday Use

Vacuum with suction only, following the direction of the stripes, and avoid the fringe. Blot spills quickly with a clean, dry cloth without rubbing. Rotate the rug periodically and limit long exposure to strong sunlight so the green stays even. Ask a wool rug specialist for deep cleaning.
