Origin & Story

This Tazrirt Collection rug follows the quiet, line-based look often linked with Beni Ourain weaving: a natural ivory ground and a few dark marks. We describe it as a Moroccan wool rug in that style without attributing it to a specific tribe or region. The small touches of color set it apart from plain black-and-ivory versions.

Design & Visual Identity

Five lines run from fringe to fringe at even intervals. The first, third and fifth are charcoal and threaded with small diamonds, each outlined in dark wool with a muted mauve or rust center. Between them, two lines carry pairs of short strokes that branch outward like the barbs of a feather.

Those branch marks are worked in rust red with occasional soft green, the only bright notes on the rug. The ivory ground between the lines is left open, so the pile itself becomes part of the design. On the reverse, the same lines appear crisply in a flat weave.

Craftsmanship & Materials

Handwoven from 100% wool, the rug has a long, dense pile with a slightly uneven surface. Lines are drawn by hand in the weave, so they waver a little and the diamonds differ in size. Each piece is made to order, and the number and spacing of the motifs may change with the dimensions.

Styling Your Space

With so much open ivory, this rug suits rooms that need light and softness more than pattern. Lay it under a bed, or in a living room with leather, linen or dark wood. The rust and green marks pick up terracotta pots, plants and warm-toned timber.

Care & Everyday Use

Use a suction-only vacuum and move in the direction of the pile, keeping clear of the fringe. New wool rugs shed loose fibers for the first weeks. Blot spills immediately with a clean, dry cloth and do not scrub. Turn the rug end to end every six months and use a wool rug specialist for deeper cleaning.
