Origin & Story

This Tazrirt Collection rug draws on the contrast and wool texture associated with Beni Ourain-inspired design. The composition uses repeated blocks and open space to create a contemporary geometric identity. Its motifs are described as visual elements, allowing the pattern and material to speak without assigning an unsupported symbolic meaning.

Design & Visual Identity

The central field contains twelve large dark rectangles arranged in four rows of three. Smaller dark marks punctuate the spaces between and beside them. Broad ivory gaps keep the layout open, while slender taupe stripes run near the long edges and provide a quieter frame for the stronger central contrast.

At the short ends, rows of narrow black blocks alternate with ivory spaces, echoing the rhythm of the center at a smaller scale. Pale fringe completes the outline. Although the motifs are arranged in a grid, they remain separate shapes rather than connected grid lines; slightly uneven edges soften the overall geometry.

Craftsmanship & Materials

Handwoven from 100% wool, the rug has a dense, high-pile surface that adds comfort and visual depth. The contrast between the light field and dark motifs is softened by the texture of the fibers. Subtle variations in the shape of each block, the pile and the shade are part of the handmade finish.
