Tazrirt Round Moroccan Rug – Red & Ivory Abstract – Handmade Wool

Origin & Story

This Tazrirt Collection rug takes the free, hand-drawn spirit of contemporary Moroccan pile weaving and sets it inside a circle. The shapes are not copied from a traditional motif. They are drawn large and loose so the rug reads as a single bold composition. We do not attribute it to a specific tribe or region.

Design & Visual Identity

Wide red bands rise across the ivory field, meeting and branching like brushstrokes. A few small red flecks break away near the top edge, and the ivory shows through in narrow channels between the red areas.

At the lower left, a triangle woven in fine stripes of red, deep blue and ivory anchors the design, and two smaller striped wedges touch the edge of the circle. The red is saturated and warm, while the striped sections add texture and a cooler note.

Craftsmanship & Materials

Handwoven from 100% wool with a high, plush pile, the rug is shaped as a true circle on the loom rather than cut from a rectangle. The edges are finished cleanly without fringe. Because the shapes are drawn by hand, every piece is slightly different, and each rug is made to order.

Styling Your Space

A round rug softens rooms full of straight lines. Use it under a round dining or coffee table, in a reading corner, or in a child's room where the red adds energy. It pairs well with white walls, pale wood, and navy or rust accents.

Care & Everyday Use

Vacuum with suction only and without a beater bar, which can pull long pile. Shake the rug out occasionally to lift the fibers, and expect some shedding at first. Blot spills at once with a dry cloth and avoid rubbing. Rotate the rug every few months so it wears evenly, and use a wool rug specialist for deep cleaning.

This rug is round. Enter the diameter you need (Ø) in the size field and we will weave the circle to that measurement, adapting the design to the new size. The minimum diameter is 1 m. Please confirm your measurement before ordering. Because each rug is made by hand, tone, texture and pattern detail vary slightly from piece to piece.
