Origin & Story

This Tazrirt Collection rug applies Moroccan wool weaving to a modern, almost architectural composition. The ivory ground and black lines echo the palette often linked with Beni Ourain weaving, used here in a bolder way. We do not attribute it to a specific tribe or region.

Design & Visual Identity

The layout is asymmetric. Two sets of black bars run lengthwise, one from the top edge and one from the bottom, and two sets run across, one reaching the right edge and one the left. They do not touch; each stops short of a block of nine small taupe squares set off-center.

Around this arrangement the ivory field is left open, with one large empty area on the right-hand side. A line of dark stitches edges each short end above the fringe. The bars have slightly soft edges where the black pile meets the ivory.

Craftsmanship & Materials

Handwoven from 100% wool, the rug has a soft, even pile. The bars are woven by hand and are not perfectly straight, which keeps the design from feeling rigid. Each piece is made to order, and the bars are lengthened or shortened to suit the size.

Styling Your Space

Treat the bars as the room's graphic element and keep nearby patterns to a minimum. The rug works with black-framed windows, dark wood and metal, and with neutral or deep blue upholstery. Place the open ivory area where furniture will sit and let the bars show.

Care & Everyday Use

Vacuum gently with suction only and keep clear of the fringe. On a light ground, deal with spills immediately: blot with a dry white cloth and avoid rubbing. Rotate the rug every few months and limit strong direct sunlight. Ask a wool rug specialist for deeper cleaning.
